Planning the Perfect Baby Shower!
The baby shower does not necessarily have to be a very lavish or high end event with a lot of cost involved in execution. You can always go for the most affordable options, all depending upon your creativity.
So I have a small checklist which will help you plan for the baby's arrival celebration.
1. Deciding the right time- Ideally, the shower should be planned earlier in the last trimester when the excitement is at its peak and mothers have started showing their pregnancy but it totally depends on the medical conditions of the expecting mom. So keep all that in mind!
2. Deciding the venue- Any place which suits all the guests, preferably planning it at home is the most convenient and economical option since you will scrimp the venue charges and pricey food.
3. Prepare the guests list- All those close to the mom-to-be. Friends, family, neighbors, colleagues etc
4. Pick out invitations- Depending on your budget you can either get the cards printed or design a card online and send the soft copies. I usually prefer designing invitation cards online and sending them across on whatsapp. Saves a great deal!

5. Select a theme- If you know the gender of the baby, your planning's easier! Colors, shapes, cartoon characters, teddies etc. There are gazillions of ideas on Pinterest, Instagram etc
5. Create your own decorations /DIYs- Once you've decided the theme, planning the decoration is not a muddle. DIYs for different paper flowers, wall hangings, centerpieces etc are available on YouTube if you have time and ideas, you can really throw the most happening party. Otherwise you have a lot of vendors who can arrange or do the decorations for you, depends on your pockets.

6. Decide on the menu- Creating a menu is one important task while planning for a party, since that's what entices the guests. Kidding! I'd suggest you to keep the easy party menus as you have a lot of preparations to be done for the celebration. Also go for some light fruit punches or assorted juices.
7. Design a beautiful themed cake- Cake is the centerpiece of any baby shower. Nothing like it if you or someone from the organizers is good at baking.

9. Provide favors- Favors are optional but always a good gesture. You can either have something edible or anything for personal use for your guest, but make sure your favors are theme oriented.

My sister and friends honored me with the most adorable baby shower with loads of creativity and hard work. The theme was "He or She? What will it be?" All the stuff (except for the cake) was home made, from food to decoration and they pulled off a fun-filled and exciting event. I was overwhelmed by the lovely surprise. Check out the pictures!
Hope you found this post interesting and helpful :)
